RESPONSIBILITIES
- Work closely with the CFO to manage the financial result for the company
- Manage the Accounting team including recruitment, training and development and performance management
- Oversee the preparation of the monthly management accounts for the different regions within the timelines set out and provide financial commentary on the same
- Provide financial advice and support and updates to the Divisional Heads and Regional Directors
- Support the preparation of the regional annual budgets
- Ensure that adequate internal financial controls exist and are adhered to within the regions
- Provide effective procedures, or initiate change, to support the delivery of key operational, commercial, and financial targets
- Work closely with Accounting team to ensure that the financial accounts, Revenue requirements and the payroll are prepared within the set timelines
- Lead and participate in cross-functional and cross divisional process improvement initiatives
- Drive process changes in the Accounting area to ensure the timely provision of information to key business owners and to facilitate a scalable growth strategy
- In conjunction with the CFO co-ordinate and collate Board reports from each region for review with the Directors
- Provide useful insight into monthly financial reporting so that the Divisional Heads and Regional Directors are informed of variances in financial reporting to budgets
- Provide regular updates on key performance indicators
- Be compliant with accounting and tax legislation
- Challenge and question how things are done to drive for results
REQUIREMENTS
- ACA/ACCA Qualified Accountant
- 5 years + experience working in industry.
- Ability to work on own initiative.
- Ability to communicate clearly and concisely at all levels.
- Proven ability to adapt to new systems.
- Proven ability to review processes with a view to improving them.
- Excellent understanding of current accounting standards, practice and guidance
- Experience with Sage essential.
